NBC released its Fall schedule and has revealed that The Event will be airing on Mondays at 9pm following Chuck. To see the full NBC schedule, click here.

‘THE EVENT’ — “The Event” is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter, “The Class”), an Everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer, “Disturbia”), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history. Sean’s quest will send ripples through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including: newly elected U.S. President Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood, “Dirty Sexy Money”); Sophia (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes, “ER”), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Sean’s shadowy father-in-law (Scott Patterson, “Gilmore Girls”). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind. Ian Anthony Dale (“Daybreak”) and Emmy winner Željko Ivanek (“Damages”) also star in the ensemble drama. “The Event” is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark (“Medium,” “Facing Kate”) serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters (“The 4400,” “Eureka”) is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner (“Friday Night Lights,” “Trauma”) is the director/executive producer; Evan Katz (“24”) also is an executive producer.

Great news today with NBC announcing that it has picked up Sarah’s drama pilot “The Event”:

NBC picked up anthology series “Love Bites,” comedy “Outsourced” and dramatic thriller “The Event” for the 2010-11 season, Angela Bromstad announced Friday.

“Each of these three series reflects a unique point of view and distinct style of quality that fits perfectly with NBC’s dedication to rebuilding the schedule,” Bromstad, president of primetime entertainment for NBC and Universal Media Studios, said in a statement. “These series showcase excellent writing and casting, and represent the kind of scripted programming our network and studio are committed to producing.”

From “Sex and the City” writer-producer Cindy Chupack and Working Title TV in association with Universal Media Studios, “Love Bites” is an hourlong romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Becki Newton and Jordana Spiro are series regulars anchoring the story, with “other romantically challenged characters” each week played by guest stars including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Greg Grunberg, Craig Robinson, Jason Lewis and Charlyne Yi.

“The Event” is a high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), an Everyman as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée, Leila (Sarah Roemer), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest coverup in U.S. history. Blair Underwood plays newly elected U.S. President Martinez.

“The Event” is a production of Universal Media Studios and Steve Stark Productions. Stark (“Medium,” “Facing Kate”) serves as executive producer, Nick Wauters (“The 4400,” “Eureka”) is creator/co-executive producer and Jeffrey Reiner (“Friday Night Lights,” “Trauma”) is the director/executive producer.

“Outsourced” is a comedy where the Midwest meets the exotic East in a hilarious culture clash. All-American company Mid America Novelties sells whoopee cushions, foam fingers and wallets made of bacon — and its call center has suddenly been outsourced to India. Ben Rappaport plays the manager who learns he’s being transferred to India to run the operation. He soon learns that his new staff needs a crash course in all things American, while realizing that figuring out India will be more than a full-time job for him. Rizwan Manji (“Privileged”), Sacha Dhawan (BBC’s “Five Days II”), Rebecca Hazlewood (BBC’s “Doctors”), Parvesh Cheena (“Help Me Help You”) and Anisha Nagarajan (Broadway’s “Bombay Dreams”) co-star along with Diedrich Bader (“The Drew Carey Show”) and Jessica Gower (Network Ten’s “The Secret Life of Us”).

“Outsourced” is produced by Universal Media Studios. Robert Borden (“The Drew Carey Show,” “George Lopez”) is executive producer/writer. Ken Kwapis (“The Office”) developed the project through his company, In Cahoots, and serves as executive producer/director. Alex Beattie is co-executive producer.

Deadline Hollywood has released an “Early Hot List” for the current crop of pilos from all the leading networks. And The Event has made the cut hopefully indicating good chances for a full series pick-up in May.

It’s that time of year again: Deadline’s annual Hot List for the first very early intel on the 2010-2011 primetime pilots for the broadcast networks. Based primarily on feedback from scripts/table reads/dailies as the vast majority of pilots have not been completed yet, these have heat heading into the final weeks before the network upfronts. Polled are agents, executives, showrunners, producers, directors, writers, as well as word from the set or editing room. Look for frequent updates:

NBC
NBC right now is the agencies’ wet dream. With more needs at 10 PM than any other network following the quick demise of The Jay Leno Show, NBC is supposed to pick between 5 and 7 new drama series for next season. Here are the early frontrunners:

THE EVENT: NBC brass is looking for an event series, and this conspiracy theory thriller’s chances look good so far.

Unfortunately the article goes on to mention that The Event may be fighting with another high concept drama called The Cape for a spot on NBC’s schedule.
